Chris Lugo

Chris Lugo, a 36-year-old peace activist from East Nashville, has an extensive platform that advocates protecting Tennessee's forests and waterways and environmental sustainability, as well as publicly funded campaigns and ending the war in Iraq.

"The war in Iraq is entering its third year with no end in sight.  We have lost many thousands of people to this war and our international reputation, and our ethical and moral standing in the world has been severely compromised.  I believe it is time to end this immoral, unethical, and illegal war."  He says, "I would like you to vote for peace this year and to vote for a progressive agenda for Tennessee."

Chris supports legislation to create a Department of Peace and make it a Cabinet-level position, and the elimination of the Department of Homeland Security.  If elected, his focus would be the needs of the poor, the elderly, women and children, working people, immigrants, gays and lesbians, and the environment.
