Julian Hatch

Julian Hatch, a 52 year-old disabled military veteran, is challenging a distant cousin, Republican Senator Orrin Hatch, who is seeking an unprecedented sixth term for Utah.

As a Human Ecologist and a lifelong native of Utah, Julian is committed to working for a better world both locally and globally.  Julian is the Southern Utah Coordinator for the Western Watersheds Project and has long been a concerned social activist openly protesting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan prior to the invasions.

Upon nomination by the "Desert Greens", Utah's affiliate of the Green Party of the United States, Julian pledged to limit himself to a two-term limit.  His campaign is focusing attention on the need for reform of the election system to allow proportional representation through "Range" Instant Run-off Voting so citizens will be encouraged enough to vote and break the ruling two-party stranglehold.

“We are building a populist third party to challenge the two-party ruling system that has become immersed in big money and entrenched in fascist ideology.  Our courts are biased and politically partisan, causing citizens to believe there is no longer neutrality or justice.

"We are no safer now and much more damage has been accomplished by incumbent millionaire politicians such as Orrin Hatch who have legislated away our freedoms.  It is time that Utah's senator for life, Orrin Hatch, be held accountable for his actions and inability to provide effective, responsible leadership for America."
